Founded in 2019, Migizi Shepherd CPA Inc. was created to address a major need in which many First Nations are not receiving the necessary financial literacy and management that is required to advance towards financial independence and ultimately self-governance.

The word "Migizi" means "Eagle" in the Anishinaabe language and is used to signify a high level of oversight for the First Nations of Canada. The word "Shepherd" is used to convey a guardian level of diligence and steadfast protection for First Nations.

We strive for real restorative change for the First Nations of Canada and we are simply not willing to accept the status quo over the past several decades.

We seek to raise the bar on how First Nations are serviced by the accounting profession and we are raising a new generation of First Nations CPAs to serve our communities.
